Helrom officially inaugurates its new transalpine connection between Regensburg and Verona with a festive event at bayernhafen Regensburg. The Bavarian State Minister for Housing, Construction and Transport, Christian Bernreiter, will personally open the route. The new connection not only strengthens the region’s logistics infrastructure, but also sets standards for a climate-friendly and reliable freight transport alternative across the Alps.
The new Regensburg—Verona connection is the first transalpine route in the Helrom network and also enables the intermodal transport of non-craneable truck trailers. Thanks to the barrier-free loading technology, companies can flexibly switch to rail without special terminals and thus reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 90%. The route is a milestone for sustainable and stable supply chains in the region and beyond. “Shifting freight trac from road to rail is a declared goal of the Bavarian state government,” explains Trans- port Minister Christian Bernreiter. “Every truck that is loaded onto rail relieves the burden on road trac. I am delighted that we are one step closer to our goal with the innovative option of loading non-craneable truck trailers onto the rail on the new connection from Regensburg to Verona.” “We are delighted with the political support for this important project, which combines economic eciency and sustainability in freight transport,” explains Roman Noack. “The new Brenner route is a major step towards future-oriented and environmentally friendly logistics.” Insight into the innovative technology and the project The event offers a comprehensive presentation of the project and its significance. In addition to the opening speeches, guests can expect a live demonstration of Helrom’s innovative loading technology for truck trailers. Participants will also have the opportunity to talk to industry experts and Helrom representatives.
