Press Release, 14 February 2024 Solarnative GmbH: Successful market entry with innovative high-frequency micro-inverter "Made in Germany"
Solarnative GmbH, developer and producer of the innovative "PowerStick" micro-inverter based on its patented high-frequency technology, announces the market launch of its solution for balcony PV systems. The delivery comes with the associated monitoring app to several providers. These include Priwatt GmbH, one of the market leaders in the field of plug-in PV systems. The company is thus setting a milestone and providing private households with a simple and secure option for the private energy transition and future energy self-sufficiency. The market launch of the system for private rooftop installations is planned for the middle of the year. "Immediately after the launch in Germany, we will expand our production capacities in order to be able to market our ‘PowerStick‘ micro-inverter internationally in the near future," explains Julian Mattheis, CEO of Solarnative. Thanks to the unique high-frequency technology, Solarnative has not only been able to drastically reduce the size of the inverter, but also significantly decrease the number of components, resulting in a longer product life and very competitive production costs. As a result, Solarnative offers a superior technology – even compared to international listed companies. Solarnative's innovative technology, based on more than 30 years of development work and more than ten patent families, helps to significantly increase the energy yield of photovoltaic systems and thus cover the drastically growing electricity consumption of private households in the future. Over the next three years, Solarnative plans to expand its product portfolio into a holistic Smart Energy Home system with battery storage and EV chargers. Solarnative is also strategically working with leading module manufacturers from Europe and Asia to integrate the inverter into the solar panel frame. This turns the PV module into a plug & play product, further simplifying the installation of PV systems. Solarnative is in advanced co-operation talks with several well-known module manufacturers. The Solarnative team has so far raised more than EUR 17 million in equity capital, which has been used to set up development in Lohfelden (Kassel) and initial production in Hofheim am Taunus. In addition to the founders, investors include BMH Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH, the SME investment and venture capital company of the state of Hesse, as well as renowned VC and private investors. Series production of the high-frequency micro-inverters began a few weeks ago; up to 50,000 units per month are to be manufactured from the third quarter of 2024. In the coming years, the company plans to scale up to over 5 million inverters per year in order to serve international markets in addition to Germany. According to Energia Market Research, the market for micro-inverters will grow from USD 3 billion in 2022 to over USD 5 billion by 2026, driven by the drastic increase in PV installations worldwide.
