Ad hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 LR
Swiss Life REF (CH) ESG Swiss Properties: capital increase planned in June/July 2024 for the acquisition of a real estate portfolio
Swiss Life REF (CH) ESG Swiss Properties is planning a capital increase with subscription rights for June/July 2024. The capital raised will be used to acquire a real estate portfolio consisting mainly of residential buildings in well-connected suburbs.
Subject to FINMA approval, the capital increase will be used to acquire a broadly diversified portfolio with a high residential component, which is currently owned by Swiss Life Ltd. The capital raised will also be invested in the renovation and densification of existing residential buildings and the borrowing ratio will be reduced. This will further improve the fund’s earnings power. Thanks to this further growth, investors will benefit from the fund management company’s staggered management fee introduced in July 2023.
The capital increase aims to raise up to CHF 650 million. The key data and further information will be announced at the end of May 2024 together with the fund’s half-year report. The capital increase will be carried out while safeguarding the subscription rights of the existing equity participants.
Further information on the real estate fund can be found here.
